Campfire Corn on the Cob

This easy campfire corn on the cob is buttery, slightly smoky, and the perfect kid-friendly side dish for family camping trips. Cook it in foil, in the husk, or right on the grill for a simple outdoor favorite everyone loves.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 –8 ears fresh corn husks on or off
  • 2 –4 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • ½ teaspoon paprika optional

Method
 

Option 1: Foil Method (Easy & Buttery)
  1. Peel husks and remove silk from corn.
  2. Spread butter evenly over each ear of corn.
  3. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and optional seasonings.
  4. Wrap each ear tightly in heavy-duty foil.
  5. Place on hot coals or grill grate.
  6. Cook for 15–25 minutes, turning occasionally.
  7. Carefully unwrap and serve warm.
Option 2: Husk Method (Juicy & Steamed)
  1. Pull husks back without removing them and remove silk.
  2. Add butter and seasoning directly to corn.
  3. Pull husks back up and wrap tightly.
  4. Cook on hot coals for 15–20 minutes, rotating often.
  5. Peel back and enjoy.
Option 3: Direct Grill (Light Char Flavor)
  1. Remove husks and silk.
  2. Brush corn with butter or oil.
  3. Place directly on grill grate.
  4. Turn every few minutes until lightly charred (10–15 minutes).
  5. Remove and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Corn holders make eating easier for kids (optional but helpful).
  • You can prep corn at home and store in a cooler for faster campsite cooking.
  • Add parmesan, chili powder, or ranch seasoning for fun flavor variations.
